Sally Hansen has built a reputable name when it comes to nail care and beauty products. You will probably wonder why I am not recommending this brand as a toe nail anti-fungal treatment.
Although you may find a few consumer testimonies that supports the product’s claims that it works, there are aspects of the product that you have to deeply scrutinize.
The product contains undecylenic acid which although is a potent ingredient is only effective in curing fungal infections on the skin. This product is more effective in curing ringworm and jock itch than resolving toe nail fungal infections.
Its second ingredient propylene glycol dicaprylate/dicaprate is a common ingredient in most cosmetics, FDA approved as a binder for its deep penetrating capabilities. In some clinical testing however, this ingredient is rated mild to moderately hazardous for use. It can cause some skin irritations.
With these facts in hand, you should think twice before investing your hard earned money in this product. It’s just disappointing because it carries the brand Sally Hansen which has earned their reputation for quality nail care products.

Direction for Use: Use daily for 4 weeks. This product is not effective on the scalp or nails. Wash the affected area and dry thoroughly. Apply a thin layer of the product over affected area twice daily (morning and night) or as directed by a doctor. Supervise children in the use of this product. For Athlete’s Foot: Pay special attention to spaces between the toes; wear well-fitting, ventilated shoes; change shoes and socks at least once daily. Keep away from direct sunlight.
Guarantee: Cures most ringworm (tinea corporis) and athlete’s foot (tinea pedis). Soothes itching; scaling; cracking; burning; redness; soreness; irritation; discomfort; itchy, scaling skin between the toes; itching, burning feet.
Recommendation: Perhaps this product has its limitations. If you are looking for a cure for ringworm and jock itch then this is the product you could use but with utmost care. Follow carefully the instructions on the box otherwise you might end up with irritated eyes and skin. It also specifically states on the box that it is not effective for the nails and scalp which then makes its curative coverage very limited to the groin and foot area.
You should also be aware that this only works for the skin around the toes and not on the nail itself. This makes its very disappointing to use as a toenail fungus treatment. Therefore, I do not recommend this product for the treatment of toenail fungus.
